Michael Bauer, born in Mansfield, Ohio, a resident of Tallahassee, FL, passed away at the age of 59 on March 12, 2016 after complications associated with paraplegia. He lived several happy and healthy years before a tragic motorcycle accident was cause for him to be wheelchair bound for the last 13 years of his life. Michael had many hobbies and talents throughout his life. He was a talented actor and singer in the 1980's, where he was known as "Nigel," and enjoyed racing specialty cars and fishing. He was a successful businessman in the marketing and sales industry for over 20 years, and worked for major international corporations. Once he was confined to a wheelchair, he pursued his passion of racing by researching, building, and repairing his favorite specialty cars. He also became involved with a charity event that gave the disabled an opportunity to feel the joy of speed in race cars built for wheelchair bound people.
Michael was known by many, and loved by all. His sense of humor was one of a kind, his stories were elaborate and entertaining, and his laugh completely contagious. Michael is survived by his father and mother, wife of 31 years, Trish Bauer, two daughters, Lauren and Erinn Bauer, a son, Michael J. Bauer, and a poodle named Lucy, who will miss him every single day. His wife cherishes the many inseparable years they spent together as best friends and soul mates, raising their children. His children pride themselves in the intelligence, character traits, mannerisms, and humor that most relate to their fathers.
In keeping with Michael's wishes, no formal services will be held.
Arrangements under the direction of Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, Tallahassee, FL.
