

She was a loving, devoted, compassionate daughter , sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to all who knew her. This world was better because she loved unconditionally.
She had a great love for travel and her motto became “If you don’t want me to go, don’t ask me.” Before the death of her husband they traveled across America pulling their Airstream camper and made friends on every adventure. She described this as some of the best times of her life. Another of her great loves was singing gospel music with her family quartet. She worked as Director of a daycare center as well as a Secretary at James Rickards High School in Tallahassee Florida.
Mildred was born on November 23, 1932 in Iron City, Georgia, the daughter of Johnnie and Ruby Dawson. She was one of five children and the last one to reach Heaven. She was also the wife of Jack C. Kirkland and mother of Mike Kirkland (Cindy) and Phillip Kirkland (Rhonda). She leaves a great legacy of 12 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren, along with many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jack C. Kirkland, and later her husband, L.B. Dollar.
A visitation for Mildred will be held Tuesday, October 29, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, 700 Timberlane Road, Tallahassee, Florida 32312. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Madison Church of God, 771 NE Colin Kelly Highway, Madison, Florida 32340. Burial will follow at 3:30 PM at MeadowWood Memorial Park, 700 Timberlane Road, Tallahassee, Florida 32312.
