He is survived by his wife, Carol, and their son, Branson; in-laws, Lowell & Jane Parrish; brother in-law, Jim Parrish; step-sister, Melinda Williams; father and step-mother, Gerald and Pam Hurst; mother and step-father, Ed and Linda Hudson.

As a neighbor I will always remember Nathan as a family man; out in the yard working on projects along with Carol and Branson; always offering to lend a helping hand to others in the neighborhood. Hoping that you find peace in all the beautiful memories that your family shared together. My thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

What makes a soul good? How do you know if you left the world a better place? How do you measure success? The answer for me is Nathan made me want to be a better person. He was an outstanding father, a loving husband, A funny guy, and a kind soul.

His sense of humor and he was a dad’s dad. A role model for a great son, and a good son himself. Never stopping down to muckraking when James and I would go at it. He remained above the fights but right there with the friendship.

As I watched him grow over the past 20 years, he made an impact on the people he met and the lives he touched. Nathan will be forever missed, sometimes people are taken too soon. Sometimes the crushing loss and hole in your heart feels as if it never will be filled. And it can’t exactly. It can only be filled by sharing “Nathan Memories”. And remembering odd or kind or funny moments. I hope we all cherish times we laughed, loved, cried, or bonded with Nathan.

He isn’t with us in the physical sense, but the man Branson is and the person he became is because of his great father. Hug someone you love a little tighter today, or reach out to someone you haven’t spoken to in a while. The world has a little less sunshine. Today I shed tears in remembrance of a wonderful funny and caring person whom I could never never measure myself against.

Missing you Nathan, gone and never forgotten.
Stu

Nathan was always so funny and kind. I remember him taking LG and B out for lunch one day. Laura still talks about how nice and funny he was! He was also a great baker! I will never have a better chocolate chip cookie than the ones he would make for us at school!

Nathan, I know that you are in a better place but you will be missed. I have lots of fun memories of you. All my images of you depict a smiling and/or laughing face.
Branson, your father was very proud of you and loved you very much. I am so sorry that he is no longer here.

Carol and Branson,
Nathan was one of the sweetest people I've ever met. But both of you know that.
He was a wonderful roommate to my husband in college and a dear friend to me.
Jeremey and I are heartbroken that he's gone.
We love all of you and are praying for you right now.
