Oscar V. Dye, age 93, of Tallahassee, Fl., passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 21, 2017. He was born in Macon, Ga. to the late William Oscar Dye and Georgia Carroll Dye on September 24, 1923. He was retired from the Air Force after 20 years of service. He was also a past Worshipful Master for the Masonic Lodge in Port Tampa during the 1980’s.
Oscar was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and one brother. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Maxine; one daughter, Pamela (Dale) Tadlock, of Tallahassee; and one son, Donald Lamar Dye of Tampa; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one sister, Connie Massey of Macon, Ga.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, May 26, 2017 at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home at 700 Timberlane Road. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Big Bend Hospice House or the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Rd., Ste. 300, Jacksonville, Fl., 32256.
