It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Patricia "Tricia" Seale on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at the Tallahassee Big Bend Hospice House, surrounded by the love of her husband, Chip, and her two daughters, Amber and Ashley.
Tricia's life was one marked by deep love, fierce devotion, and unshakeable strength. In the days leading up to her death, she was surrounded by family and friends from all corners of her life, each of whom would attest to the lasting impact she made. Tricia was often described as a “legend” and a “fierce mother,” and many who knew her referred to her as a second mother. She was the heart of her family, always loving, always giving, and always nurturing. Her ability to love others as her own was truly remarkable.
At the core of Tricia's love was her beloved husband, Chip. Their love story began with a swift courtship in Lake City, FL, and after marrying, they moved to Tallahassee, where they built a life together. Their family was completed with the birth of their second daughter, Ashley. As a mother, Tricia’s devotion knew no bounds—whether volunteering in Amber and Ashley’s classrooms, sewing costumes for school plays, or hosting memorable family gatherings, she gave herself wholeheartedly to her daughters and Chip.
Tricia's involvement in the community was just as extensive. She worked at Young Actors Theatre as Office Manager for many years, supporting her daughters' passions while also becoming an integral part of the theatre’s family. Later, Tricia joined the IT team at the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), where she made lifelong friendships and continued to show the same dedication and warmth that defined her life.
Beyond her family and career, Tricia had an incredible circle of friends and was known for never missing an opportunity to celebrate others—whether it was throwing a baby or bridal shower, planning a retirement party, or, in more recent years, hosting a chili cook-off. She loved bringing people together and sharing in life's joys.
In recent years, Tricia and Chip built their dream beach house at Alligator Point, which became a place of peace and joy—a place where they created countless cherished memories with their family and was known as her “happy place.”
Tricia was preceded in death by her parents, Charles “Charlie” Stripling and Gladys “Pat” Hines, and is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Chip; her two daughters, Amber (Tony) and Ashley (Tyler); and her cherished grandchildren, Logan, Parker, Gage, and Avery. Her fierce and unwavering love for her family will forever be her legacy.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the Mayo Clinic of Jacksonville, for their compassionate care during Tricia's brave battle with metastatic breast cancer. They also express deep gratitude to the staff at Big Bend Hospice House in Tallahassee, for their loving and gentle care in Tricia’s final days, ensuring that she passed peacefully.
There will be a Celebration of Life, honoring Tricia, Friday, February 21, 2025 from 5pm - 8pm at The Retreat at Bradley's Pond, 9002 Bradley Road, Tallahassee, Florida 32309. We warmly invite you to join our family as we celebrate and remember the beautifully lived life of Tricia. In true Tricia Fashion, all she asked was that we gather with good friends, enjoy a cold one, and make joyful memories together.
Please honor her vibrant spirit by wearing your best Lilly Pulitzer-inspired attire - bright, cheerful, and full of life - just as she was. RSVP at bit.ly/TriciaSeale by February 7th.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Mayo Clinic Breast Center or Big Bend Hospice, both of which provided incredible care during Tricia’s journey.
Tricia's love, generosity, and strength will remain in the hearts of those who knew her, and her memory will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to be a part of her life.
