Paula Jean Rozofsky, age 40, of Tallahassee, formerly Perry and Omaha, died on January 10th, 2026. Paula died with a heart bursting with selfless love, a heart that physically beat its last long before we ever would have imagined.
Paula’s joy blessed countless souls. A beloved daughter, sister, and loyal friend, Paula is survived by her parents “Bill” and Mary Rozofsky and her five siblings. Paula was born two days before Christmas. “Willie,” Tammy, and “Katie” woke up on Christmas day with the best Christmas gift ever under our tree – a baby sister! Paula continued to bless the family in her role as big sister and best friend to John and “Danny.” Paula is also survived by boyfriend Rob Hardison, sister-in-law Dawn, and brother-in-law “Dan.” Her nieces Sierra, Hannah, and Gianna and her nephews Gage, Dominic, “Tommy,” “Benny,” Isaac, and Peter were a source of pride and joy in Paula’s life. Paula is also survived by many, many friends and relatives. Paula’s heart was immersed in beautiful, generous love. She loved with her entire being. She viewed the friends in her life as family and was always up for a shared adventure with a good friend.
Preceded in death by grandparents James and Patricia Holst, Hyman Rozofsky, and Lawrence and Eulalia Grunig. She was also preceded in death by aunts and uncles “Jimmy” and Sylvia Holst, “Bill” Daley, Dale and “Terry” Hatcher, John Brutto, and “Margie” Holst; cousin Lori Foley; godmother Cathleen Manheimer, and surrogate grandmother Jean Simpson.
Often seen at family reunions followed by a spinning cloud of children and silliness, Paula spiritually adopted many precious children of God. Her child-like, joyful, and loving presence made her a kid magnet. She also earned the nickname “Paularazzi” because of her skill in sneaking pictures from all of her favorite angles, whether you liked it or not. In fact, legend has it, at least according to her oldest and wisest brother, Paula invented the first “selfie” using a Kodak disposable camera.
Paula worked in many roles. She had the patient and encouraging spirit of a teacher. She cared for children and pets as if they were her own, but her true profession was agape love.
Paula was active in the Catholic Student Union. She loved to spend time with baby Jesus in front of the Tabernacle after Mass. She volunteered in campus ministry with the Brotherhood of Hope, and fundraised for mission trips to Tanzania with students from Rutgers University. She also loved to support the community through programs such as the Junior League of Tallahassee, YMCA Leaders Club, Camp Indian Springs, Camp Boggy Creek, and more.
If there is a lesson to be learned from Paula’s legacy, it would be to “choose kind” and that “you only live once (YOLO).” Another lesson, quoted from a gift from Paula: “Love one another deeply, from the heart” (1 Peter 1:22). In a Christmas card from years ago, she said, “’May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.’ Love Paula”.
[We would love for you to share your special memories of our sweet Paula! We will have an opportunity to write memories in a physical book at the funeral that we hope to update yearly near her birthday. Boards will be available to post your own pictures if you wish.]
