Perry.  Thank you for all the great times we had as co-workers and friends.  You were the best and I will miss you.  Heaven has gained a mighty fine DJ.

My deepest condolences to the Dollinger family! I have many fond memories of him from high school baseball, to our FSU days, and so many more. Truly a friend to everyone he ever met.  He will be missed. 

I met Perry in high school and his positive spirit carried him throughout life. I am honored to have known him and my deepest condolences go out to his family that I know without a doubt were his pride and joy. Here is a photo of Perry and I as well as a few others at our 20-year high school reunion 2 years ago. He always made it a point to come back and stay connected. 

It feels like just yesterday we were up in Hessel cruising around in your dad’s Dakota truck, playing basketball, fishing, spending time with your fam, enjoying heavenly sunsets, and partying around the bonfire under the stars.  One of the highlights of your year was getting up north for the summer.  It was one of mine too. Summer was always larger and life was fuller with you. 
 
You and I were always stunned at how quickly summer would fly by and come to a close, but there was comfort in hoping that we would see each other again. 

As we grew older and our paths changed you faithfully and intentionally stayed in touch. You never missed a beat. You made the time to call or text to wish me a Happy Thanksgiving or a Happy Birthday and to keep me up to date on all the recent accomplishments your wife, brother, sisters, parents, kids, friends, and family members had made.  

You were a loving husband, doting father, caring son, encouraging brother, and faithful friend. You were always full of life and endless compassion.  You were the life of every party.

Although it feels like the end of another short summer, this time it is different. This time I’m grieved and not ready to say goodbye. I will seek comfort in hoping that we will see each other again. Until then my friend.


The LORD sent me help in the man called Perry. Our paths crossed at a moment in time when I didn't see help on the horizon.  I was having a hard year filled with loss of family members, after long months of caring for them, then in the midst of it all, I was dx. with endometrial cancer. Few knew of the challenges care-givers face when they become to one needing care. Perry gave me what most both disregard & covet most- TIME. He donated to me his precious time when I had none left. That gave me time to heal without financial and emotional concerns. He went a step further to e-mail me personally about my recovery, and how he'd taken some steps with my paperwork to ease me back into my workplace without stress.  Perry's one of those people that can see a situation from the inside out, advocate for the lesser heard, and aid you when no one is watching. I appreciate all the talks,laughs, moments & memories you left me, Perry. Few are out visiting work areas between 4:30-5pm to check on how it's going as the day is coming to a close, laughing with you and just bonding over options and solutions for the future of FSH & the world.  Your Home-going has a purpose not known to me, who can know the mind/heart of our Lord & Savior,  but I trust that there is forever a star light that shines in the night with your name on it.  I will miss you, Friend and keep your family,(beautiful wife & kids) in my prayers  to build them strong and sure-fired, like I promised. You love them eternal. You have worked good and faithful servant, rest well, til' we meet again.  Veteran salute to you. 

Perry was one of the first people I met in the event industry when I first started my photo booth rental company.  I had lots of questions and he was so welcoming and kind, and what a great DJ!  Made sure the whole room was part of the celebration!  It was a huge blessing to have known him.  He helped so many and will be truly missed.  

My heart just aches for you Cara and your boys.  He was a wonderful man who was taken too soon.  My thoughts and prayers are with you.

My deepest sympathies go to Cara, his children, his siblings, his parents, and his whole extended family. May you find comfort in all the wonderful memories of him.  

Perry was my coworker in my office in Tallahassee. I remember him as a bright, caring, dependable, industrious, and honest young man. He enjoyed teaching and helping others succeed, and he introduced me to Sterling leadership. He had tremendous patience and calm in crises. He was also a musical whiz, was a DJ in the past, and always knew where to tell me to go to find good musical venues and festivals in the state.

In our Hospital Administration office in Winewood, he helped me adjust to many transitions in Tallahassee. He was a colleague who I could always spontaneously ask for help. He was a friend with whom the whole office could share a laugh.

He will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know such a wonderful and kind person. 

Sending my sincere  condolences, thoughts and prayers to the family.  Perry was a great co-worker who will be truly missed. Gone too soon!

My heart goes out to all of you. Perry was one of those rare individuals that was loved and respected by everyone. Ginny is so proud of him. He was a wonderful son, husband,  father and friend. I so wish I could attend in person tomorrow but I will be there in spirit. My love to all.

Perry Dollinger - our favorite neighbor.  He and Cara never missed our Halloween party.  In fact, on October 17, 2020, Perry won best costume in his superman getup.  It is fitting that he choose superman for his costume this year.  Perry was a super husband, father, and friend.  Words don't do him justice.  Perry's actions, as depicted in thousands of photographs and videos with his family, say all you need to know about how he spent his time.  We will miss him walking by our house with Cara pulling the boys in a wagon and knocking on our door just to say hello.  We will miss him riding by on that old bicycle from college that he choose to repair rather than replace (he was very proud of that).  Although we will miss Perry very deeply, our lives are enriched by the times we had together.  There are many lessons to be learned from the way Perry lived his life.  Perry was remarkably successful in every regard.  Rest easy, Perry Dollinger.  May God's peace, comfort and healing be upon your family.  - The Vickers Family

My prayers for Perry’s family and friends. 

As a member of the Florida Sterling Council, I met Perry at the conference and have enjoyed working with him and his agency.  So sorry for your loss. 

I had the honor of getting to know Perry through the DCF facilities.  I first met him at FSH training for a leadership class and then later had the opportunity to know him as my supervisor.  I recognized him not only as a colleague and supervisor but also as a friend.  He talked about his boys often and how important his family was to him.  Thank you for making a difference in your work and the influence of your character you have had on others and myself.  I utterly regret his untimely passing and pray most sincerely that his family shall be blessed both with comfort and strength to endure the days ahead.  Perry will be missed.  

Perry will be greatly missed by everyone fortunate enough to have worked with him. I’ll especially miss his enthusiasm for life, his work, and FSU. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones during the difficult days ahead.

Perry was truly a wonderful individual who meant so much to his colleagues in Tallahassee and at the treatment facilities. I will miss our good natured Nole/Gator discussions and listening to him speak proudly of his boys. He had an admirable way of maintaining a calm demeanor in stormy weather and putting a positive spin on difficult topics.  Our thoughts and prayers are with the Dollinger family.

I worked with Perry for a number of years at Sterling and at Florida State Hospital. His loss is profound and he will be terribly missed. All of my thoughts and prayers are with Cara and the family.

My prayers for the family and all who loved Perry.  He was a kind soul and I loved chatting with him, especially our common appreciation for music.  He will be missed around work and by all who knew him.  My heart is sad.

Perry was a darling and wonderful person.  He did everything he could to help people at work and everyone genuinely liked him.  I didn't get to see him often but it was always a joy.  He will be greatly missed.  

Perry was a great man. He loved his family and FSU beyond measure. He was loved by many and will be missed. Gone far too soon. May God welcome him into heaven and provide peace and comfort to his family and loved ones.
