

Philip Mitchell Golding, 85, beloved husband and father, passed away in Tallahassee, FL on April 19, 2013 after a long illness. Philip was born in Rockaway, NY in 1927 and was a proud U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He worked for the State of New York for many years, retiring in 1985 as Director of Retirement Accounts in the Department of Audit and Control. Philip enjoyed history, classical music, Gilbert and Sullivan operettas, New York Times crossword puzzles, and discussing current events. Philip was predeceased by his father Abraham Golding, mother Jane Gustave, sister Rita Pomerantz, and nephew Leslie Pomerantz. He is survived by his wife of almost 59 years, Joyce, his son Laurence (Terisa), daughter Elisabeth (Barbara), nieces Diane, Robin, Bambi, and Ginger, and other family. A private memorial celebration will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to Big Bend Hospice or the American Cancer Society (no flowers, please).
