Ralph Albert Swatts, Jr.

(November 14, 1937 – December 25, 2025)

Ralph Albert Swatts, Jr., of Tallahassee, Florida, joined Our Lord Jesus on December 25, 2025, at age 88.

Born in Panama City, Florida, he grew up in the city founded by his grandfather, Port St. Joe, Florida.

He graduated from Gordon Military College in 1958 as Cadet Major and proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserves for six years.

Ralph enjoyed a long career as a highly respected automobile dealer in Northwest Florida. He had many customers who loved him and remained loyal clients for decades.

Preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Swatts, Sr., and Maybel Stone Swatts; his sister, Virginia Harrison; and grandson, Matthew Stephen Nettles.

Survived by his loving and devoted wife of sixty-three years, Madeline Gill Swatts; brother, Higdon Swatts (Gayle); brother-in-law, James Harrison; daughter, Tiffany Janes (Chet); daughter, Charlene Nettles (Stephen); son, Ralph Albert Swatts, III (Trey) (Tamara); and grandchildren, MadelineMarie Nettles, Stone Nettles, and Stryker Swatts.

Ralph was a quiet prayer warrior who served faithfully at First Baptist Church of Panama City, Florida, and Celebration Baptist Church of Tallahassee, Florida. He loved taking his family on his boat, especially after church, to delight them with God’s beauty on the water—a pastime that stretched across sixty years and three bays.

He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
