Rich was born on September 2, 1950, to Richard and Margaret (Dee) Robleto, and grew up in Levittown, PA, as the third of eight children living in a two-bedroom house. After graduating from Bishop Egan HS and Temple University, Rich married Barbara Danaher before moving to Delaware to attend graduate school and raise their three children. During that time, Rich built a successful career at Blue Cross & Blue Shield while also doing work with The Arc of Delaware that changed the lives of thousands of people across the state. Rich married Michelle Thomas in 1996 and moved to Tallahassee where, prior to retirement, he served as Florida Deputy Insurance Commissioner, Director of Florida Healthy Kids and Adjunct Professor at Florida State University. Rich and Michelle enjoyed spending time at the beach, rescuing senior dogs, and most especially being doting grandparents. Rich was a loving husband, dedicated father, beloved Pop-Pop, dutiful son, supportive brother, generous neighbor, tireless advocate, selfless volunteer, avid golfer, amateur painter, would-be harmonica virtuoso, numbers enthusiast, and extraordinarily social dog-walker. He never met a stranger and made every trip to the grocery store an extended social event.
Rich is survived by his wife Michelle, sons Jeff (Katie) and Greg (Selena), daughter Jill, grandchildren Kaylee and Ginelle, and dogs Teddy and Austin... and truly anyone whose life he made a bit brighter with his infinitely generous spirit and endearing (and corny) trademark sense of humor.
Local memorial services for Rich Robleto will be held in Tallahassee, Florida on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at 11 am at Killearn United Methodist Church, 2800 Shamrock St. South.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Big Bend Hospice, The Arc of Delaware, or your favorite charity.
