Robert J. Sturmer

A Memorial Mass to celebrate his life will be Saturday, July 9, 3:00 PM at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 4665 Thomasville Road, Tallahassee, FL.

Bob was born July 18, 1925, in Miami, FL, to Edith and William Sturmer. He graduated from Miami Senior High School, class of 1943, then served our country in the United States Navy from 1944 - 1955. Bob went on to work for and retire from the Miami-Dade County School system. He could most often be found aboard his bicycle or motorcycle cruising the streets of Miami and Fort Pierce, with a kind word and smile for anyone he encountered.

Bob is survived by his wife, Alice Wilson Sturmer; two sons, William Henry Sturmer (Laura) of Charlotte, NC and Shawn Sturmer (Cathy) of Tallahassee; four grandchildren, Katie Biel (Jordan) of Baton Rouge, LA, Barbara Sturmer of Charlotte, NC, Patrick Sturmer of Tallahassee, FL and Andrew Sturmer of Charlotte, NC; and two great-grandsons, Luc and Jude Biel of Baton Rouge, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers William, John, and Richard.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lake City VA Medical Center, Voluntary Service Office, 619 S. Marion Avenue, Lake City, FL 32025 or the charity of your choice.
