

Sondra Jean Ranew was 73 years old when she peacefully passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2022, in Tallahassee, FL, after battling many cardiac illnesses for years for which she suffered much for too long according to her family. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Helen Johnson of Tallahassee, FL. She was a member of United Methodist Church and she attended Ohio State University.
Sondra grew up boating and water skiing on Lake White; she loved the beach, playing cards, board games, and spending time with her dogs and grandchildren. She loved Jesus and keeping her family close to him with prayer. Her heart was full of everyone she loved and she held each one dear and always remembered the details of what was going on in each life.
Sondra was hardworking and determined in everything that she did. Sondra retired after 22 years of service from the Federal Prison in Tallahassee, Florida . However, with her hard working nature she didn't stay retired for long. She continued working for 8 more years at JCB in Pooler, Georgia.
She is survived by her sister and best friend, Sharon Riffle (Johnson); son, Jason Meacham; grandchildren: Brittany and Josh Collins, Dylan Meacham of Tallahassee, FL; Aunt Evelyn Fraley of Lucasville, OH; and many cousins in Ohio.
A celebration of life for Sondra will be held Saturday, January 14, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, 1737 Riggins Road, Tallahassee, Florida 32308.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
