Susie devoted many years to teaching Head Start in Gadsden County, where she touched countless young lives. She was exceptionally artistic and found great joy in crafting holiday decorations, gifts, and displays. She also loved gardening, visiting with friends and neighbors, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Susie was preceded in death by her husband, Emory Vickers. She is survived by her children, Shawn (wife, Christine) and Debra Boone; grandchildren, Cassidy and Sterling; and great-grandchildren, Clayton and Madeline.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no formal service. Instead, we invite you to raise a glass in her memory and imagine her fins up — enjoying “some beach, somewhere,” with an ice-cold beverage in hand.
