Thelma Rebekah Hicks Selden, 94, passed away at Big Bend Hospice House in Tallahassee on Tuesday, August 23rd, 2016. She was born in Wausau, Florida. She was a beloved Christian wife, mother & homemaker. She later went into nursing at TMH & FSU Medical Center. After that, she enjoyed painting. She always made sure everyone was happy and well-fed.
She was preceded in death by her father & mother, Jesse Harmon Hicks & Georgia Rebekah Barton; her husband, John Randolph Selden; her son, Douglas Byrd Selden; and her brothers & sisters: Lewis, Eliza, Wesley, Laura & Wendell. Survivors include sons, Randy & David; daughters: Kay & Becky & her daughter, Rebekah; 6 grandchildren, Emily, Phillip, Elizabeth, John, Timothy & Rebekah; 8 great-grandchildren; and trusted friend, Michelle Trawick.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 25th, from 5PM to 7PM at Culley’s MeadowWood. The service will be Friday, August 26th at 2PM at Culley’s MeadowWood, 1737 Riggins Rd, Tallahassee, FL 32308 (850-877-8191), with burial at Tallahassee Memory Gardens.
