Tallahassee died at his home. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, he came to Tallahassee in 1975 from Vero Beach. Tom had been a technician with Garcia Bridge Engineers and worked on many of their largest projects, including Cascade Park. Tom was a Catholic by faith and enjoyed playing the guitar and following sports. He was a die-hard Cleveland Indians fan.
Survivors include his father: Thomas D. Shifflett, Sr. of Tallahassee; and sister: Mary (Chip) Bowen also of Tallahassee.
