Timothy Lee Ott, age 58, passed away suddenly of natural causes on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at his home. He was born in Cairo, Georgia on May 4, 1957, the son of Peggy Poole Ott and the late Hugh Lee Ott.
He is survived by the love of his life and wife of almost 38 years, Kathy. Tim was Kathy's beacon and gave her strength which she will hold in her heart forever. He pampered his princess in such big and little ways. Tim allowed Kathy to soar by providing the wind for her sail and he burned bright as her beacon, bringing her back to safety. The playful spirit of their relationship was clear. The memories will remain. A love so strong will not be broken by death.
Tim and Kathy have two children who mourn the loss of their Dad--Nicholas Lee Ott (Evelyn) of Monticello and Tammy O'Neal Ott (fiancee Scott Williams) currently attending Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. Tim thought his children hung the moon. He was fiercely proud of Nick and Tammy. Nick followed his dad into the heating and air industry, which made for a strong bond. Tim loved being with Nick, it didn’t matter if they were tinkering with a motor or playing guitar—if they were together, Tim was happy. Because of Tim’s birthdate, Nick will always think of his dad when he hears the play on words from Star Wars: “May the 4th be with you.” Tammy lit up Tim’s world from the day she was born. From swimming with dolphins to owning a pony—if it was what Tammy wanted, he was all in.
Tim is also survived by his granddaughter, Morgan Karis Ott (daughter of Nicholas and Evelyn), as well as his mother Peggy, his brother Rick (Nelle), mother in-law, Anita Krick, brothers in-law Daniel (Tamara Odom), Michael (Lisa), Kevin, Tom (Debbie) Krick, and a sister in-law, Anita "Gingy" Sampson (Paul), nieces, Charlotte Fristoe (Eddie), Courtney Krick, Caitlin Sampson, Sage McClain, Sisaly Krick, nephews, Brandon Krick (Kaley), Barron Krick, Nathan McClain (Angela), Stephen Sampson, Jake McClain, Dashiel Krick and many aunts, uncles, cousins and lifelong friends, all of whom will miss Tim's deep sense of humor and calm, loving manner.
Tim worked for 37 years in the heating and air industry and recently retired from Tallahassee Community College.
Tim was known for his green thumb and especially enjoyed cultivating sago palms and loofah as well as maintaining the acres surrounding his home with the companionship of his beloved dog Macy. Tim took joy in collecting vintage bicycles and vintage bike bells. He loved playing guitar, and passed on his love of music to his children.
Tim was as gentle a soul as ever walked the earth.
Funeral services will be led by his dear friend Fred Gainous and will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Woman's Club of Tallahassee located at 1513 Cristobal Drive in Los Robles.
Donations in Tim’s name may be made to the Tallahassee-Leon Community Animal Service Center.
