

Waymon was born in Pontotoc, MS on July 14, 1929. He graduated from Pontotoc High School before entering the Air Force where he served in Japan. After graduating from Mississippi State University in Starkville, MS, Waymon spent his career working his way up within the ranks of the Social Security Administration. This required stints throughout the Southeast, prior to being named Director in the Tallahassee office in 1968. He retired in 1990 after 33 years and then stayed active restoring houses and furniture, and playing golf. He was heavily involved in the community. Waymon was president of the Leon County United Way, started the Senior Citizen Planning Council. He was an active deacon in Tallahassee First Baptist Church and East Hill Baptist Church in Tallahassee.
He was predeceased by a son, Robert David Sewell in 1975.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lucy; his son, Steven and daughter in law, Donna Manning Sewell; and his grandchildren, Emily Manning Sewell, Hannah Manning Sewell and Olivia Kathryn Sewell of Tampa; his two brothers, Eugene Sewell and John Edward Sewell both of Mississippi.
Visitation will be held at Culley’s Riggins Road Chapel on Sunday (today) from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Monday (July 22,2013) at East Hill Baptist Church 912 Miccosukee Road at 11:00 a.m. with interment following at Roselawn Cemetery.
