William “Billy Bob” Maloy Coulter, age 67, passed away peacefully on Monday night, September 15, 2025, in Tallahassee, Florida. He was born in Andalusia, Alabama, on October 8, 1958, to Mary Louise Blackwell and William Alvarez Coulter.
If heaven needed a roadie, then it makes perfect sense that Bill answered the call. Known for his larger-than-life spirit and gentle-giant heart, Bill proudly called himself a professional tourist and with good reason. Over a remarkable 45-year career on the road, he drove around various bands on tour, transported and provided teleproduction services to sporting events with NEP, and hauled just about any and everything during his time on the road with just around 4 million miles under his belt! From stadiums to arenas, he carried his signature mix of rock ’n’ roll grit, professionalism, and kindness wherever the music and lights took him.
Bill was the kind of man who could load a tour bus, calm a storm, and still be the life of the party by night. He knew how to rock, and he definitely knew how to party but more importantly, he knew how to love people well. To know Bill was to be welcomed, cared for, and probably handed a good story with a smile.
Bill leaves behind a family that adored him: his sons, Wes and William; his granddaughters, Hannah and Johnnah; his sister, Sandra; along with cousins, nephews, nieces, countless friends, his road brothers and sisters, and a legacy of laughter, kindness, and memories that will keep on touring in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
While Bill may have taken his final bow, the encore of his life plays on in every story told, every laugh shared, and every beat of music that reminds us of him. Raise a glass, cue the lights, and keep the party rolling, just the way Bill would have wanted.
The family asks that, in Bill’s memory, you honor him by choosing safety: don’t drive distracted. Please travel safely, love deeply, and live fully just as he did.
