William Dana Holton

William Dana Holton, 63, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2011, at the Margaret Z. Dozier Hospice House of Big Bend Hospice in Tallahassee. Dana was a Physician’s Assistant and owned and operated Bayline Medical Center in Carrabelle for many years. A much loved and respected resident of Carrabelle for many years, he loved to fish and hunt and anything involving the outdoors. He dedicated his life to helping people and his community. Dana was a Green Beret and served in the Special Forces prior to returning to Carrabelle and beginning his medical practice.

Dana is survived by his former wife and mother of his children, Vicki Holton, his son, Ryan Holton (Fiancee, Desiree Fraser), two daughters, Jennifer H. Dewiel (Husband, Wayne) and Rebecca H. McDaniel (Husband, Stephen), two brothers, Archie Holton (Wife, Margaret) and Reedy Holton (Wife, Charlene), his sister, Beth Payne (Husband, Tom), and three grandchildren, Jesse Gay, Victoria Page and Troy Hillard.

A celebration of Dana’s life will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2011, from 12:00 until 3:00 at Gully Branch in Carrabelle, Florida.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. James Rehab and Medical Center, 297 Crooked River Road, Carrabelle, FL 32322.
