Burchell Anthony Milton, the first born of James Milton and Florence Kerr, was born July 7, 1943 in Manchester, Jamaica. At the age of 1, Burchell along with his mother and grandmother relocated to Gibb Town Water Lane in Vere Clarendon to be by his father. Having both parents together was a blessing and the future was very promising. Unfortunately, at age eight mother Florence died and a few years later, father James remarried Lucille, who became his mother.

Burchell attended Alley Primary and Teacher Whiteman Commercial school in May Pen, where he excelled in his studies, took various Accounting examinations, passed them all and achieved First Class Honor throughout Jamaica. This success did not go unnoticed and Burchell gained nationwide recognition in the national newspaper - The Gleaner.

Burchell excelled wherever he went and at an early age landed his first job at Waterwell Sugar Factory in the payroll department. His strong work ethics, brilliance in Accounting, humble character and dedication soon landed him a higher position at Moneymusk (WISCO) Sugar Factory. Burchell later migrated to Kingston where he worked at Jamaica Corporate Credit Union League as Field Officer and Manager to the Agricultural Marketing Corporation; he then went Jamaica Water Commission as an Accountant and then to ALCAN Credit Union as a Manager.

In 1978 Burchell migrated to United States of America. While here, he did not forget his family members in Jamaica and continued to care for his father James, stepmother Lucille, sister Lovetta, brother Rudolph and his children. Living in America, Burchell chose not to go back to working in accounts, and acquired a satisfying position at Edison Parking in New York City, until his retirement in 2006.

Burchell loved his family tremendously. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to family members and strangers. His siblings respected and adored him and often looked to him for wise counsel. Burchell was bent on making the best of life, not only for himself, but also his family and looked forward to settling down with the Lady of his dreams – “ A Fine Lady named Pansy” he had met while working at ALCAN, Ewarton, Jamaica. In 1985 on returning to Jamaica he reconnected with the love of his life, after which they were joined together in holy matrimony in 1996. Burchell lived a humble life and spent much enjoyable time with his wife, whom he loved, adored and respected. In 2009, being more cognizant of health issues Burchell and Pansy relocated to Florida. While in Florida, Burchell and Pansy operated a neighbor-hood Take- out- Restaurant and small Variety store – while enjoying his hobby at the Local Race Track.

In 2017 Burchell suffered a mini stroke from which he recovered. Still under the careful watch of medical professional and his wife Pansy, Burchell was able to remain medically stable. In May 2018 he suffered multiple strokes which affected his ability to function independently and required subacute rehabilitation. On June 4, 2020 ravaged by the effects of his illness, Burchell was admitted to Westside Regional Hospital; here he was treated and released on July 11, 2020 again for continued rehab care. Sadly, on July 30, 2020, Burchell succumbed to his illness.

Burchell is fathered 6 children – 4 girls and 2 boys. He is survived by his loving wife Pansy Brooks-Milton; children - Audrey Milton-Charles(Canada), Andrea Milton-Surewood (Canada); Garfield (Deceased) Floyd, Sherice & Felicia; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grand: Brother: Rudolph (Jamaica) Sisters: Lovetta (Jamaica) Myrtle (North Carolina), Claudette (Florida) Valma (Canada), 3 Aunts, Dear Cousins, Numerous Nieces, Nephews, dear friends and host of other relatives.

Calm, easy going individual. Made it is duty to visit father and brother in Vere each visit he made to Jamaica.
I've never heard him spoken aloud, the dominant feature that always stood out was his bright smile.
