Walter Y. Waith (Tex) of Tamarac, Florida passed away on October 19, 2021
Tex was born on October 16, 1940 in Leguan Island, Guyana.
Son of the late Louisa and Lewis Waith, Leguan Island, Guyana
Son-in-law of the late Abdul and Basmattie Rahman, Better Hope Guyana
He leaves behind his loved ones Desiree (Zaibun) Waith, children: Sheriza Waith, Sandy Natasha Waith, and Karl Waith. Son-in-law Michael Madraymootoo and daughter-in law Tulsidai Prashad, His beloved grandchildren: Karina, Nathaniel, Kayleigh, Kathryn, and Keegan.
Brother of the late Robert, Winston, Compton, Peter, Philomena and Egan Waith. Survived by brothers and sisters Barbara, Owen, Kruger, Cheryl, Ormit, and Gary Waith.
In his career, he served in the Guyana Defense Force as a Lance Corporal and Captain of a Marine Vessel until he retired. In 1993 he migrated to New York where he worked in construction business until he moved to Florida.
He later returned to Guyana, until he developed signs of dementia at which time he moved back to the US for medical treatment. He continued to deteriorate at which time he became a resident of Catholic Health services where he later passed last Monday.
A visitation for Walter will be held Friday, October 22, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bailey Memorial, 6701 West Commercial Blvd, Tamarac, FL 33319. A visitation will occur Saturday, October 23, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 6701 West Commercial Blvd, Tamarac, FL 33319. A funeral service will occur Saturday, October 23, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 6701 West Commercial Blvd, Tamarac, FL 33319. A committal service will occur Saturday, October 23, 2021 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at Garden of Faith at Bailey Memorial, 7801 Bailey Road, North Lauderdale, FL 33068.
