

Abigail "Abby" Dyer, 76, of Lutz, Florida passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2025. She had resided in the Tampa area since she was a child. She graduated from King High School and earned both her Bachelor of Science in Education and Master of Arts in Library and Information Science degrees at The University of South Florida, followed by a very satisfying and rewarding career as a classroom teacher and Librarian in the Hillsborough County Schools System. She was also an accomplished quilter and seamstress, creating her own gowns and accessories for her further enjoyment as a "Lady" with Ye Loyal Krewe of Grace O'Malley, an all female social, service and charity organization, recognized most often through its annual participation in Tampa's Gasparilla Celebration and Parade as well as other such events throughout the state.
Left to mourn their loss, but CELEBRATE her life, is her loving husband of 54 years, John; daughter, Heather E. Hogan (Elliott); son, Ian W. Dyer (Christine "Christie"); Heather's children, Gray and Addison Dykstra; Ian's children, "Wes", Eli and Luke; Abby's sister, Susan Fender (Bill) and other extended family and lifetime accumulation of awesome friends.
The family will receive friends at the Blount & Curry Funeral Home, Carrollwood Chapel, from 6:00pm- 7:00pm on Friday, AUGUST 22, 2025, followed by the sharing of remembrances starting at 7:00pm. Flowers and other such tributes are unnecessary.
Kind thoughts and memories of Abby are a far more enduring gifts to our family. Private interment will take place at a later date.
