She was born on June 20th, 1955 in Aurora, Il to E’Maynard and Alice (Charleston) Thurlby where she immediately brought joy to this world. After graduating from West Aurora High School, she went on to dedicate 35 years of service to the USPS. First beginning her career at the Aurora Post Office, followed by the Oakbrook facility, working her way up the ranks through Fox Valley and finally onto the Great Lakes DNO.
When Betty decided to join the ranks of motherhood, she decided to dedicate her life to being an absolutely amazing mother. She never skipped a beat when it came to showing her love and support to her children. We will never be able to fill the space left behind by her.
On June 29th, 1996 Betty married the love of her life (Jerry) and from that day forward the two were inseparable. In 2013, with her best friend by her side, Betty retired to sunny Florida and began yet another chapter of her life.
While Betty always made it her mission to improve the lives of others, once retiring, she was able to dedicate majority of her time to volunteering. She began with Living Angels, where she offered her time, talents and conversation. She spent weekends as a Eucharistic Minister or in various volunteer roles at St. John Vianny Catholic Church where she shared her unwavering faith in God with those who surrounded her.
There are no words that can describe how much she will be truly missed.
Betty is survived by her husband Gerald (Jerry) Kubick; her son, Mark Snyder; daughter, Anna (John) Gould; step-son, Jason Kubick; two brothers, Maynard “Bub” (Debbie) Thurlby and Robert (Barb) Thurlby; along with her sister, Ellen Dyslin.
