Deborah Banta Drumm, 73, of Tampa, FL, went home to be with the Lord on August 9, 2025, just one month after a sudden and devastating diagnosis of pancreatic cancer on July 7. Only weeks earlier, she had been joyfully touring Germany with her family. Her passing has deeply grieved her loved ones, and her home has since been filled with cards, flowers, and meals from dear friends and fellow Christians.
Debbie spent many years in Jacksonville, where she was a faithful member of the Lakeshore Church of Christ. In 2010, she returned to Tampa to live just a few streets away from her parents, Arnold and Lena Banta, to lovingly help care for them in their later years. For 13 years, she was a devoted member of the University Church of Christ. After marrying Ron Drumm in 2023, she began worshipping and serving with the Henderson Boulevard Church of Christ.
With a degree in art, Debbie used her talents to bless others in countless ways. She created cherished portraits that now hang in the homes of friends and family, and she used her creativity to teach Bible lessons to children both locally and in Honduras. Her handmade teaching tools and heartfelt cards — sent during times of sorrow and celebration alike are treasured reminders of her love and care.
Debbie was preceded in death by her first husband, Jeffrey Sheppard; her parents, Arnold and Lena Banta; her nephew, Michael Colon; and her niece, Kaitlyn Smith.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Ron Drumm, and her sisters and their spouses: Julia Colon, Kim and Derek Carley, and Kitty and Dan Smith. She also leaves behind her nieces and nephews and their spouses: Mark and Amanda Colon, Maria and Gordon Owen, Jackie and Jay Vogt, Cassie and Bobby Bailey, Hunter Smith, and Hannah and Zander Lemay; as well as her great-nieces and nephews: Emma Snider, Jayden Crabb, Ava Snider, Bryson Colon, Niyah Owen, Jayce Vogt, Jaxson Vogt, Oliver Bailey, Elliot Bailey, and Juliet Vogt.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to:
