McBride, Delton C., 89, of Tampa, FL-It is with great sadness that the family announces his passing on Thursday, January 28, 2016. Delton (DC) will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 65 years, Minnie Lou; three children, Teresa McBride, Valeria (Richard) Terry and Ken (Cathy) McBride; two grandchildren, Melissa Davis and Stacy Martin; six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Originally from Vidalia, GA, Delton was the youngest of 8 children. He served in the US Naval Air Force during WWII, played minor league baseball in the late 1940s and was a volunteer firefighter. He had a passion for racing stock cars, enjoyed fishing, and was an avid golfer and bowler. In December 1950 he married Minnie Lou Canady and started their family. They moved to Tampa, FL in 1963 where he joined his two brothers in the wholesale automobile business, McBride Autos, later he became partners with his son until his retirement. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Blount & Curry Funeral Home Carrollwood Chapel, 3207 W Bearss Ave, Tampa. The family will start receiving guests at 10:00am.
