Don L. Mays

Don Mays, 79, passed away on January 1, 2020. He was born in Wahoo, NE, to parents Leroy and Garnett Mays, May 15, 1940. Don was preceded by his sister, Lois Miller and parents. Don is survived by his loving wife, Vonda Mays; children Jeffrey Scott Mays, James Mays, Jane Mays Tilman and Nicole Nystrom; grandchildren Carly Taylor, Merlin Mays and Hadley Taylor; and his ever loyal dog, Dallas. Don retired after 30 years with Burroughs Corporation and 20 years of self-employment. Don was an avid boater. He loved the water where he found comfort and ease on his beloved boats, last of which was his 27 foot Crownline, the "Vonda Sue". He had a love of music that he shared with his children and grandchildren. Don was a loving and generous, big-hearted man who loved his family and made other people feel like family wherever he went. He will always be remembered, never forgotten.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, January 5th, from 2-4pm at Blount & Curry Terrace Oaks Chapel, 12690 N 56th St, Temple Terrace, FL 33617

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 6th, 11am at Blount & Curry Terrace Oaks Chapel, 12690 N 56th St, Temple Terrace, FL 33617. Followed by graveside services at 1:30pm, Trinity Memorial Gardens, 12609 Memorial Dr., Trinity, FL 34655.
