Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, George Benke. Survivors include her son, Stephen Benke; brother, J. Clint Brown (Cynthia); niece, Margaret Lee.
Dorothy retired from Hillsborough County Schools. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, July 18, 2022 at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories, Tampa, Florida. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Tampa, Florida. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
