

Born to Iris Ross and John Massaro on August 5th, 1936, Dorothy was a lifelong Tampanian. She married the love of her life, Daniel Rio, who she shared sixty-two wonderfully committed love filled years with.
A faithful Christian, and an elder of Christ Community Church, Dorothy’s unwavering unconditional love and devotion touched many lives. She was many things to many people, and was a foundation of loyalty, strength, and stability to all who loved her.
Dorothy enjoyed traveling, camping, gardening, the “country,” her animals, photography, sewing, old movies; and her greatest joy of all, her family.
Dorothy is survived by her sister-in-law, Gloria Rio de la Llana; children, Leslie Ferrell and Daniel Rio, Jr.; grandchildren, Tina Marie Canalejo, Christopher Ferrell, Llex and John Rio; great-great grandchildren, Everleigh Ferrell, and Avery Rio; many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins, and those whose lives she touched over the years. She was preceded in eternal life in Heaven by her sister, Joan Massaro Berkowitz, and husband, Daniel Rio.
Graveside services will be held Sunday, February 16th, at 2 p.m. in the Garden of Memories Mausoleum, near the Garden of Memories Funeral Home at 4207 East Lake Ave., Tampa, FL 33610.
