Elizabeth Anne Pray, 83, of Tampa FL, passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, after a short illness. Anne was a loving wife, mother of four, grandmother of 15, and great grandmother of 3. Her commitment and unconditional love to family was only surpassed by her deep and abiding faith in her heavenly Father. She was born on February 5, 1937 in Burnsville, WV. She moved to Baltimore as a young girl, fell in love with the piano, entering competitions and performing. Anne graduated from Catonsville High School and went on to earn a Teacher's Certificate and Bachelor of Music Degree in Piano Performance from the Peabody Conservatory of Music. Anne would have had a promising performance career, but was smitten by the love of her life, Captain William L. Pray, USN (Ret.). They were married on July 10, 1958, in Baltimore, MD. They immediately left for Monterey, CA and proceeded to raise a growing family as they moved across the US and Pacific with Bill's naval career, ending in Tampa. Anne was truly a gifted pianist, enjoyed performing, accompanying others and loved teaching her beloved students. She also was a church pianist, realtor, substitute teacher and an assistant kindergarten teacher. Anne had a real eye for details, gifting her talents to the Jr. Friday Morning Musicale with organizing recitals and with the Sr. Club as the current Librarian/Historian, volunteering with the monthly recitals and luncheons. Until recently, she worked tirelessly as the Gold Cup Chairman for the Florida Federation of Music Clubs. She loved Hallmark movies, always waking up for the ending. Collecting Hallmark ornaments, gathering family around the piano for Christmas Carols. She was so proud of her grandchildren, always excited for a visit and for the outings they would go on. She was steadfast in her beliefs and, along with Bill, was an active member at Idlewild Baptist Church.
