It was an honor and a privilege to have served on a Special Forces A-Team with SSG Steve Cole. He was a valued member of team 124 and was the youngest in age of our 13 man unit. He deployed to Panama the Canal Zone with us in Feb 1976 and then to  South Korea (Operation Team Spirit)  with our team in Feb 1979. Steve performed all his duties & responsibilities in an outstanding manner and did so in a positive "can do" attitude. He now joins his 4 other team mates who have been called to the final formation in Heaven. May God comfort Steve's wife and  children in the days ahead.

Offering Condolences to Judy and family on the death of Steve.  Remembering how funny he was and always kind as one of the big "kids" next door when he was dating Judy... from one of the Pierringer neighbors in Port.  Hoping you get peace and comfort from the Lord during this trying time.

  So sorry to hear that Steve had passed. Steve always had a positive outlook and always a loyal friend since high school. He cherished his family and appreciated his friends.  We'll all miss him.

We're so sorry to hear of Steven's passing.  We have a lot of wonderful memories of Steve. Uncle Marlin remembers when he got a baseball bat on his 3rd birthday, and he couldn't wait to use it.  So we went to the backyard with me pitching and Everett catching. He wasn't hitting anything, so I told him to choke up, and he started coughing.  After a lot of laughs we explained what choke up meant.  It was a family story forever.
We were married on Steve's 9th birthday.  He thought we picked that day because of him.  We didn't tell him any differently. We're coming up on 60 years on what would be his 69th birthday.  
We also remember how he & Judy drove a truck from Vallejo to Iowa with his grandparents furniture when they were moving.  The day before was a beautiful Easter Sunday on April 18th in our backyard with all the family, can't remember the year, but it was our anniversary and his birthday.  What a great time we had. 
We loved getting to meet all of his family when we came to Florida over 15 years ago.  And what a beautiful family it was.  We're so sorry that we can't be there with you tomorrow.  I know he was a rock to all his sisters,  and a beloved husband, father and grandfather.  We wish we could be there with all of you.

The Cocchi family is very sad and sending so much love to all the Cole family. Steve was an incredible human who loved his wife, children and sisters. There are many memories that always included his jokes, funny stories and wonderful view of life. Our family gatherings as children were a prelude to Steve's zest for life.
He always kept in touch with a phone call claiming to be someone else trying not to laugh at his own silliness. He will be greatly missed.

Lots of great memories of Steve from high school. He could rock the leather jacket Fonzie look better than anyone around. Charismatic and fun-loving, he was a great classmate. Condolences to Judy and the family.  I made a donation in his name to the Class of 1971 Memorial Scholarship.
