Frederick Allen Garcia

Frederick Allen Garcia, “Freddy” of Tampa, Florida passed away peacefully on August 31, 2025 at the age of 79. He was born on April 6, 1946, to Joe and Carmen Garcia. Fred graduated from Jesuit High School in 1964, then went on to USF where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. Graduating with his Law degree from Oklahoma City University School of Law in 1973, Fred became an accomplished lawyer in Tampa with a specialty in Trial Law.

He had a passion for sailing. He was a skilled project master, and never missed an opportunity to build, remodel, repair or take on any home project that he could think of. Fred shared his love of music, especially New Orleans jazz, with his family and friends.

Fred was preceded in death by his mother, Carmen V. Garcia, his father Joe Garcia, and his brother Richard “Dicky” Garcia. He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Garcia-Alatorre (Luis), his son, Christopher Garcia (Susan), his 5 grandchildren: Tyler, Vivian, Emily, Margaret, and Theo, his longtime companion, Jane Cook, and numerous cousins.
