Gasper Frank Martino, 82, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 21st . He was surrounded by his family at the time of death. He was born and raised in Tampa attended V.M. Ybor, graduated from Jefferson H.S. in 1953 and The University of Tampa. He was a selfless man, who lived his life for everyone around him, and would never change a minute of the life he lived. His family was his world and he cherished being with them more than anything. He spent the majority of his life working in the oil industry from the time he was a teenager in their family business, as well as Exxon and Radiant Oil until he retired at 76. He was well respected by everyone he worked with. He was a true warrior through and through with a heart of gold! He was also a long time member of The Krewe of Sant’ Yago. He will be greatly missed by many, but especially his family and close friends. He was preceded in death by a son, Mark Martino and his parents Frank and Frances Martino. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 58 beautiful years, Norma Martino, a son, Tom Martino, daughter, Lisa Martino Tuero (Manny) two grandchildren, Natalie and Anthony Tuero, and many extended family members. The family will receive friends for Visitation Thursday, May 24, 2018 between 10 and 11 AM at St. Lawrence Catholic Church 5225 N. Himes Avenue, Tampa. Funeral Mass will begin at 11 AM at the church followed by Entombment at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Children’s Cancer Center where he gave much time as a volunteer for many years, and served on their Board of Directors.
