George Martin Ernst was carried home by his Heavenly Father on July 1, 2021. Survived by his wife Mady R. Ernst, daughter Lisa G. Manzi, and brother Michael Ernst with wife Lona Ernst, along with grandchildren Salie Cordero, Johanna Kearley, Thomas Manzi, and Matthew Manzi, great grandchildren Leilani Kearley and Eli Manzi.
George was born August 21, 1940 to parents Edgar and Thelma Ernst in Tampa Florida, and joined the United States Army as a young man. George later became a member of the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s department, from which he retired in 2003. George enjoyed crossword puzzles, and while relaxing in his recliner while watching old westerns with his trusty sidekick Bandit.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Sheriff’s Youth Ranch in Hillsborough County.
The Memorial Service will be held at Blount and Curry Funeral Home @ Garden of Memories 4207 E. Lake Ave., Tampa, Florida 33610 at 3:00 p.m.
