Dear Gonzalez Family, While the sadness was of loosing Georgie has been terrible, it was nice to see the family after 40 plus years. Please reach out to me as I would like to visit with you after all these years.

 George you where  my first love. What I loved the most was your laughter,  you goofy jokes, your kindness for people (you never had a bad word to say about anyone) your  love for your family and friends.
 I remember the first time I met you at my parents restaurant, you came in time after time trying to   Asked me out, even though my parents were very strict and I couldn't date , I took a leap of faith. 
We had a crazy ride and we where blessed  with a beautiful baby girl . 
You taught our baby girl how to handle herself, be a girl but learn how to do things a boy can do!  She definitely got her adventure side from you as well. 
You left us to soon George, even though you will not be there physically for all of Joanna's new adventures I know you will be walking next to her. 
Even through divorce you and your family have made me feel welcomed and loved, I always enjoyed going to your mom's and dad's for Sunday lunch, your sisters houses for get togethers and getting together at Easter at your family's big get together, I always looked forward to seeing you and catching up , and especially talk about Joanna and her new adventures. Those are the times that I will cherish ! You will be greatly missed George.

Our dearest George..... you will be in our hearts forever. We loved you very much. You came into our lives and made them forever memorable. You were a kind man, a wonderful husband and a very loved Step father. We so appreciated all the good times we shared as a family. You taught each one of us how to live, laugh and love like there was no tomorrow. From the fun filled days to the family nights. You made our lives bright. Your selfless love for all was the most inspiring thing I will keep with me forever. Our time was short but you have always been in our hearts. And that is where you will always be. Remember when...... Until we see you again. 

We all will miss Uncle George, Brother, and seeing him still sit at the "kids" table on Sundays. Seeing his smiling face anytime some new entered the room. My thoughts and prayers go out to Joanna, Papa and Granny, Aunt Cathy and my Mom.

Uncle George loved his family very much. I personally feel blessed to be a part of such a large and loving family. We all will miss Uncle George and seeing him for spaghetti lunch every Sunday. Hi my name is Jenna and I am Uncle George's youngest niece. First and foremost, I am so thankful and appreciative for all of the love and support you all have shown my uncle over the years and for the love and support you have shown my grandparents, my mom, Joanna, and the rest of our family during this difficult time. 
It's with a heavy heart that we are all here today, but that heaviness fades a little more for me each time I look back on all of the amazing memories and life lessons that I have experienced with you, Uncle George. Some of my favorite childhood memories consist of the times I spent at your house on the weekends with you and Joanna. 
From the princess pajamas, to the pigtails we created in your hair, to the countless number of scratch off tickets you bought for us, it never failed that you were one of our closest companions and our favorite person to pass the time with.  I have always thought of you with a smile on my face every time I drive past cow pastures and how naturally your favorite saying of it smells like roses slipped out. How appropriate that simple saying means to me now more than ever. 
Although there are many years between you and I, I have always admired the fun-filled, carefree heart-of-a-child spirit that was so infectious to be around even in your most recent years of life. In the midst of chaos that seems to surround us in our day-to-day lives, I hope you know that your loving spirit didn't go unnoticed in my eyes. Your ability to smell the roses in the crappiest of situations is remarkable and I vow to continue to stop and smell the roses even on those days and in those situations that seem to be unbearable. 
I believe that Papa and Granny did an amazing job teaching our family the importance of quality time together and for that I believe is why you and I have so many fond memories. By far my favorite memory was the day that you came to my house to pick up Joanna to take her back home. We were inseparable and we decided to devise a plan to potentially have one more sleepover together. We were watching our favorite movie, The Little Rascals, in my room on repeat and every time you or my mom would walk in to see if Joanna was ready to leave, we would pretend we were in a deep sleep. Neither of you woke us up; instead, you both simply closed the door and continued to talk in the living room with all of the patience in the world. Eventually, you decided you would attempt to pick up Joanna the next day and off you went. You never got angry and you never interrupted our quality nap time together and for that most adults can't say they would have ever done the same. 
In my older years the miles between us became more distant, but the love and support I received from you never wavered. My generation has become pretty terrible at picking up the phone to check in on a loved one and I admit I am guilty of that myself. The voice messages you would leave were awesome, especially, when I received it after the annual FSU vs. UF football games. You always supported me in my school endeavors and more importantly taught me that it was okay to go against the norm and to be the underdogs in a life that seemed to be made up of orange and blue. 
My proudest moment with you was when you learned that I had finally trained my chickens to be hand fed and held. A feat that most wouldn't understand, yet I know I was making strides when you joked with my mom that I was a real farmer now. I was thrilled to gain your approval because I have always admired your work ethic on the farm and your love for all of our animals, especially Marley and Pixie. However, I should have taken your expert advice and let you help me build a chicken coop when you offered because lord knows it would be standing stronger than the one that's currently falling apart. I guess they say hindsight is 20/20 and the stubbornness that I have doesn't fall far from the tree. The beautiful thing about you is that you have always guided us all through our struggles without passing judgment, and then you were the first person waiting at the finish line to celebrate our accomplishments. 
I guess the saying goes, if we never had bad days, we wouldn't appreciate the good ones. I'll be the first to admit this week hasn't been easy for any of us and it definitely hasn't been easy for Jonathan, Liam, and Bryleigh. I know you would be proud of them and how gracefully they are handling your absence. Jonathan was quiet, reserved, and asked to take time to be alone to think of you and to pray for you. After Bryleigh processed your loss, she came to my mom and said, I know he's in a better place now. Last night, Liam greeted me outside on the driveway after work to show me how beautiful and bright you were in the clouds and when I turned around you sure enough were shining brighter than the rest. In these moments, they too were simply smelling the roses. 
There are no words to express how much you will be missed, but we find comfort in the memories you shared with each of us. I am comforted knowing your spirit will always be by my side for divine chaos that surely lies ahead in life. 

We are sending a dove to heaven with a parcel on its wings. Be careful when you open it, it's full of beautiful things. Inside are a million kisses, wrapped up in a million hugs. To say how much we miss you, and to send you all our love. We hold you close within our hearts and there you will remain. To walk with us throughout our lives, until we meet again.

As I stand here today and think about words to express how I feel about my father, I realize how truly blessed and lucky I am to be his daughter. 

He was my Dad- As a little girl, the thing I remember most about our time together was always wanting to go to the shop with him.  So many early mornings I would beg to tag along just to be surrounded by the sounds of welding and drilling all day. He never made me feel like I was in his way; in fact he encouraged my curiosity. Although I never learned to build a carport, my daddy taught me the difference between a flat head and a Philips screwdriver and when to use each of them. He taught me how to use a drill before I was strong enough to hold it up myself, he would even let me run around drilling screws throughout his shop to make me feel as though I was apart of what he did everyday. I loved going on his long drives to deliver his work. We would listen to country music while eating a bag of powered doughnuts along the way and buy scratch off tickets for the long drives back. Those times were most precious as they were just daddy and daughter with no distractions. 

My father taught me my love for the ocean, for adventure, and how not to walk past someone on the street with their hands out without giving. Many summers were spent on the boat fishing and the jet skis doing doughnuts and splashing through the waves on the island. His zest for life always came out when there was a thrill to be had and I know now where I get it from.  We would go to the different theme parks together and he would always have me in the tallest shoes possible just so my head could reach the line to ride with him. He taught me to embrace being nervous and some of the best adventures come from stepping out of my comfort zone. His passion to help others even when he didn't have much to give lives through me everyday. He did what he could to help the people he loved most and would give the shirt off his back for a stranger. 

As I think back to the one vacation we took together with no one but the two of us, I will always remember the laughs we shared after one too many margaritas and the unfiltered conversations that could only be between a daughter and her father. Those three days cruising the Caribbean with his carefree spirit will live on in me forever. 

Daddy: I have taken in all of your lessons, applied your wisdom and used these skills literally and figuratively  throughout my life. Looking back, one might see these as little things that perhaps happened only infrequently, but they were more than that for me. They were lessons in life and love that are forever burned into my heart. Your compassion, your love, your understanding, and your zest for life will always live on through me. You have given us all memories that are more precious than anything in this world. Your physical presence will be missed forever but I know you will always be by my side through all of the next chapters to come.

Dear Gonzalez Family, Our deepest sympathy for the loss of Brother. I remember our great times on 99th. You welcomed all of us kids from the neighborhood and always had sandwiches and sodas. Brother was such a great baseball player and we Mr. Gonzalez always found time to play catch with us. 
There is never an easy way to understand the loss of a loved one, especially a child and brother but I know your faith has always been very strong and that will help you through this period.
