

George T. Pinner, Jr passed away on March 1, 2023, with his family by his side. George was born on July 4, 1931, in Tampa, Florida to his parents George T. Pinner and Elizabeth Morgan Pinner, he had two brothers: Ronald and Mac Pinner. The family lived in Asheville for a short time and returned to Tampa, where he lived the rest of his life. George graduated from Jefferson High School in Tampa. He served in the Korea War.
On May 12, 1956, he married the love of his life Betty Lee. They had 3 children and in the late 70's brought another child into the family. He worked for CXS railroad for 40 years (previously named Atlantic and Seaboard Coastline) After the passing of his beloved wife, George met Jeannie York to whom he spent the last 21 years with. She sadly passed away 16 days before George.
George loved the flag and our country. He was very involved with American Legion Post 152 in Tampa, He was Commander of SAL 2009 -2010, Post Commander 1998 – 1999 and 2000 – 2001, also the 15th District Commander, he also served on many committees and very involved with Boys State. He was so excited to be selected for the Honor Flight – he flew on “Honor Flight of West Central Florida” – Mission # 29 – April 25, 2017.
George loved God and his faith was strong, he was a member of Tampa Bay Community Church.
Most of all he loved his family- his children and grandchildren were his life. He was the kindest most giving man, and never met a stranger. Everyone loved Mr. George.
He is survived by his Children: Debbie Pinner, Sandy Riley (Husband Rick Riley) George T. Pinner, III (Chip) (wife Roxy Pinner) Michael McHerron (wife Theresa McHerron)
Grandchildren: Brett Rhodes, Amanda Rhodes, Ryan Violette (wife Jodi Violette)
Great Grandson: Barriston Rhodes
Burial will be held Thursday March 23, 2023 @ 1pm at the National Cemetery in Bushnell, for those who cannot come to the funeral we will be having a Celebration of Life which will be held Saturday – March 25, 2023 @ 1pm at Tampa Bay Community Church 3318 Moran Rd, Tampa, Florida 33618
In lieu of flowers you can donate to Hospice of Tampa or Tampa Bay Community Church. Hospice took such good care of both Dad and Jeannie, and he loved his church.
