COPELAND, Gretchen Hill, 92, of Temple Terrace FL departed from this life July 20, 2014. Gretchen was born Feb 2nd, 1922 in Benton, Arkansas. Gretch¬en attended Harding College where she met her husband Griffin Copeland. They were married May 30, 1946 and settled in Temple Terrace. Gretchen taught English for 27 years, 24 of them at John Adams Junior High. Gretchen’s influence was not confined only to the classroom. Gretchen was a member of the Church of Christ and shaped countless lives by her example. Gretchen is survived by her sister Genevra; daughter Joy; daughter in law Karen; 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband L. Griffin; son Richard and brother Sam. Visitation will be held at the Garden of Memories, Saturday July 26 1-3, memorial services immedi¬ately following. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Florida College library or the Adopt-a-Stu¬dent program.
