Gwen Wells Rossell

Gwen was born in Tampa Florida to Rodney and Lena Wells on February 2nd, 1938. She married Richard L. Rossell on January 30th, 1954, in Kingsland Georgia. She worked as a pianist for several Baptist churches. Her career started at the young age of 8 years old filling in for her church. Gwen began playing full-time around 1970 at Six Mile Creek Church and for the Evangeleers Gospel Quartet. Gwen played on their first album a few years later. In the year 2000, she began playing piano full-time for East Chelsea Baptist church. Gwen played at East Chelsea for 19 years and was avidly involved with the church doing the Lord’s work. She was preceded in death by her father Arthur Rodney Wells, mother Lena W. Wells, brother “Davis” Melton Clinton Burchfield and grandson Steven Nathaniel Morris.

Gwen is survived by her husband Richard Leo Rossell, sons Rodney Rossell, Randy and (Theresa) Rossell, daughter Robin and (Tom) Morris. Grandchildren Jim, Miranda, Gage, Simon, Melody and Shawn. Great Grandchildren, Jaci, Mikhail, Violet, Sawyer, Liawna, Ace, Bodhi, Waverly and Leo.

Visitation will be 12:30-1:30pm Sunday August 25th, 2024, at Garden of Memories, Tampa Florida

Funeral services will be held 1:30-2:45pm Sunday August 25th, 2024, at Garden of Memories with the Pastor Raymond James of East Chelsea Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories cemetery.
