

Harold Feinberg, 90, of Brandon, passed away peacefully at home with his loving wife Ruth and family by his side. Harold was born at home on Arlington Ave in Tampa to Samuel and Rose Feinberg on August 1, 1924.He lived his life with integrity and compassion and was respected by everyone he met. He was a lifelong resident of Hillsborough County and a graduate of Hills borough High School, "Class of 1942" He also attended the University of Florida Law School for over one year and left to enlist in the U.S. Navy. Harold had been on the swimming team while in high school and became a lifeguard while stationed in Pensacola, Fl. His goal was to eventually be with the Navy’s UDT (underwater demolition team). He attended Notre Dame University in Indiana and Millsap’s College in Mississippi with the Navy's V-12 program for officers training. He earned the rank of LT. JG. He was later assigned to Ft Pierce, FL for training for underwater demolition and was among the last class to be trained there. While waiting to be assigned to a team it was announced that W.W.II was over. He never got to be in the thick of the battle doing what he was trained to do, but was extremely happy that no more of our military would be killed in the war, When he returned home, he joined the Navy Reserve in Florida and received his discharge in 1948. In the 1950’s Harold founded Feinberg-Moore Insurance & Real Estate, Inc. He was always a people person and enjoyed working with all of his clients and business associates, and was a good friend to many. He always made time to "visit" on his calls to his client’s homes and businesses. Harold was active in the community and was involved with the Independent Fee Appraisers Association, the Civitan Club and past president of the North Tampa Civic Association. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a Shriner. He recently received his 65 year certificate with the Mason's Hillsborough Lodge #25. Harold sold his business in 1985 to Brown and Brown Inc, and worked there as an agent for two years before retiring in 1987. Over the years Harold survived triple bypass heart surgery, prostate cancer and a stroke, yet never slowed down doing things he always enjoyed doing especially attending "Gator" football games. He was a season ticket holder for 40 years. After retirement Harold and Ruth enjoyed traveling in their RV and have visited the contiguous United States and Canada. Harold especially enjoyed white water rafting in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. When Harold married Ruth, the love of his life in 1981 he became an awesome loving step-dad to 4 grown children and Grandpa to 3 grandchildren. Over the years the family has grown to 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother Herbert. He is survived by Ruth, his wife of 34 years, his niece Patsy Feinberg that he always loved like a daughter, step daughters: Linda (Rob, who was loved as a true son by Harold), Candy (Dicky), Donna (Dean), and step-son Jim (Martha) as well as 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Funeral Services are to be held at Garden of Memories Funeral Home on Monday, March 30th, at 12 noon, with internment to follow at Myrtle Hill Cemetery. The family requests no flowers, donations can be to the Shriners Hospitals for Children
