Herbert served in the Navy in 1946 and 1947. Trained to be a mechanic on the GI bill and eventually moved to Tampa to work for Schulstad Motor Company. He was incredibly loyal and remained with the company until the dealership was sold. Throughout his life, he volunteered his time to help build a few of the churches he attended. Herbert was always very involved in his church from serving as an usher, a Sunday School teacher, or as a handyman.
The service for Herbert will be a private service for immediate family. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to LifePath Hospice, who provided care and support for nearly three years
