During 1961-2, I was Communications Officer on board USS Yosemite AD-19 stationed at Newport Naval Base, Newport, RI. I was an Ensign fresh out of OCS and Communications School. Jim was a Third Class Radioman in the division, a pleasant, hard-working fellow. Maybe ten years ago, we got in touch. Now we were just two old fellows curious about how life had been for the other person. Last week, I realized that I hadn't been in touch with Jim for awhile. I emailed and a called his home number to no avail. Then I learned why. I have no doubt that Jim was a dedicated employee and a strong family man. I can understand your loss. My thoughts are with you,
Ed

Had the pleasure of working with Jim for many years @ the Hillsborough County Water Dept. He was highly respected by all his co-workers there. Loved talking to him about Italian food! I surprised him with a Lidia Bastianich cookbook once & he in turn gifted me with the Mafia cookbook. He was very proud of & loving spoke of Sandra, her Mom & his children. He was sorely missed when he retired. Praying that God will comfort his family. I reside in TN & will be unable to attend the service but his family will be in my thoughts. God Bless You All.

GOD plans our journey, so it's important we treat everyday of our lives as a gift. When our journey is complete, I believe we each get our very own "cloud in the sky", so on a windy day I watch the clouds and think of family and friends who have reached their journey. Jim genuinely displayed the highest respect and love for his wife and his entire family, he was so proud of them. Jim was quite a character and he will truly be missed.
My deepest sympathy, Andrea B. (Hillsborough County retiree)

Jim was my next door cubicle neighbor at HCWD for three years. He was always funny and an incurable optimist. Did he ever win the lottery? We had a good time dreaming about what we would do if the office pool ever hit it big. Jim always put family first and was exceedingly proud of his brilliant and beautiful children and his loving wife. I know he will be missed as he was always in the center of everything. Godspeed, Jim. See you on the other side.
