A small gathering with family members will take place in Tiger, GA later this spring. At his request, no public memorial service will be held.
Mr. Watts was born on November 16, 1951 in Murphy, North Carolina to Earl and Myrtle Watts. He graduated from Hiawassee Dam High School in 1970 and proudly served his country in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. When he returned to the States, he settled in Tampa, Florida where he graduated from Hillsborough Community College and began a 40-year career in the automotive industry.
As a jack of all trades, Mr. Watts loved to tinker and could fix practically anything with a little super glue and some duct tape. He was an avid gardener and most especially, the best storyteller. He often recounted colorful tales from his childhood growing up in the mountains of Appalachia.
Mr. Watts will be deeply missed by loved ones and friends. He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Watts, St. Petersburg, FL; best friend and partner in life, Kay Bathe, Tampa, FL; Brothers: Willie Joseph (Bill Watts d. 2014) Denver, CO; Jesse Fred Watts (d 2020) Cumming, GA; John David Watts, Talkeetna, AK; Jerry Earl Watts (d 2003 Ocean Springs, MS).
