

Jane was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on October 13, 1936. She settled in Tampa, Florida with her parents in 1939. Jane was a graduate of Hillsborough High School's class of 1955. She participated in several organizations and activities including the Red and Black staff, Modern Dance Club, and announcing halftime shows for football games.
As a teen, she became a member of Northeast Methodist Church and enjoyed playing on the girls softball team. She met her husband Tom in youth group and they were married at Northeast in 1957. Together they were very active in serving their home church, including leading the high school youth group. Jane contributed to fundraising, community outreach, and established a youth enrichment program for the neighborhood children.
Jane was a devoted wife and homemaker. She encouraged her children’s interests and activities and was very active at their school, volunteering in the library, serving as homeroom mother, and PTA President. As her children grew, she began working outside the home and started her career with the Hillsborough County School System, eventually retiring as the Registrar for Jefferson High School.
Jane loved spending time with her family; her biggest delight was enjoying her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved people and was interested in the lives of all she met. Her home was a place where all were welcome.
Jane is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Thomas R. Goldston and parents Hall H. Frye and Corneal Smith Frye. She is survived by son, Bret Goldston (Sherri), daughter, Kara Goldston; her sister-in-law, Judith Walker (Dan); granddaughters, Jennifer Goldston, Jeri Thomas (Michael), Jessica Davis (Robert) and great grandchildren, Conner and Chloe Thomas; nephews, Tom Walker (Laura), Joe Walker (Joanna), and great niece and nephews, Bailey, Jackson, Brady and Chase Walker.
She had a heart for children and championed children’s causes. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations to Metropolitan Ministries or any children’s literacy or art programs.
A private graveside service will be held Saturday, July 6th at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
