

Joan was born in Hayward, California to Clyde and Zelma Burleson on October 20, 1941. She went to high school in Fremont, California. She married Mark Hromalik on December 30, 1970 at Saint Rafael's Catholic Church in Lehigh Acres, Florida.
Joan moved 13 times during the 12 years her husband served on active duty in the U. S. Army, including three years in Germany, which allowed her to visit many other European countries. Joan and Mark lived in Dallas, Texas from 1985 until 2016, when they retired in Florida.
Getting polio at age 11 had a dramatic effect on Joan throughout her life, but she maintained an efficient and loving household and participated in charity events whenever she was able.
Joan is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Jo Dorame.
Joan is survived by her husband, Mark, and her loving son, Dan Hromalik and his wife, Liri Hromalik and her grandson, Stefan Hromalik and granddaughter, Sofia Hromalik. She is also survived by her nieces Sara and Sonia Dorame in Santa Rosa, California.
Visitation (including the Rosary) will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Monday, August 29 at Saint Timothy's Catholic Church in Lutz, Florida.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 30 at Saint Timothy's Catholic Church, with Father Drew Woodke officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 PM at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. Arrangements are by Blount & Curry Funeral Home.
