Joy Lee Wilson, born on September 20, 1956, in Anchorage, Alaska, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2024, at Melech Hospice House in Tampa, Florida.
Joy was the beloved daughter of Lee Hubert McCutchen and Joyce Powell. Her siblings, Cathi Wolf (married to Richard Wolf), Karen Corieri, and Greg McCutchen, survived her. Joy was the devoted wife of Arnold J. Wilson and the loving mother to Heather Coffey (married to Wayne Coffey) and Timothy Daniel. She was the stepmother to Brant Wilson (married to Saruda Wilson), Russ Wilson (married to Jenny Wilson), and Meghan Wilson. Joy was a cherished grandmother to Corrine Coffey and Sarah Coffey and a step-grandmother to Landon Wilson, Bryce Wilson, and Kylie Wilson.
Throughout her career, Joy sold insurance through AAA, where she excelled and was recognized as a top producer four times. Her success was a testament to her hard work and unwavering commitment to putting people first in everything she did.
Joy was passionate about gardening and spent countless hours working in her yard. She loved to travel, taking several European trips, and cherished her time with her grandchildren. Her kind spirit and warm personality made everyone feel special. Joy was a dedicated friend who loved deeply and made a lasting impact on all who knew her.
A celebration of life for Joy will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories, 4207 E Lake Ave, Tampa, FL 33610. Following the celebration of life, an internment gathering will be held from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Oak Grove Cemetery, 2027 County Road 232, Wildwood, FL 34785.
Joy Lee Wilson will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of kindness, love, and dedication to others will forever be remembered.
