Joyce Elaine Diehl

Diehl, Joyce E. 84 passed away March 14 2023 at St Joseph's Hospital Tampa, FL. Cremation rites accorded. Memorials to St John's School of Nursing Springfield IL. Joyce was born January 25 1939 to Ralph and Luanna (Wells) Henderson. Joyce attended Decatur Public Schools graduating in 1957. Joyce married Barry N Diehl October 8 1960 and they enjoyed 62 years together. They had two children Susan R and Eric N. Joyce spent her early years raising her children but in 1979 she returned to school to achieve her lifelong desire to be a Registered Nurse graduating from St John's School of Nursing May of 1983. She continued her career until her retirement in 2009.Joyce and Barry loved to cruise completing 43 Cruises. While living in Decatur Joyce was active in Junior Welfare Assoc. Decatur Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and was a member of PEO Chapter MR. She was also a member of Decatur Country Club and the Decatur Club. Survivors include her husband Barry and her son Eric and a host friends. Her daughter Susan R, her parents Ralph and Luana Henders and, her brother John E Henderson preceded her in death.
