Joyce was born in Tutwiler, Mississippi, to the union of Hense and Annie Bell Williams, Sr. The little family moved to Florida when she was two years of age to eventually settle in Tampa, Florida. She attended local public schools and went on to attend Hillsborough Community College to study Business Management. She had a long career serving in many levels of office administration with the State of Florida. When her father became ill, Joyce left employment to assist her mother in caring for him until his passing; she selflessly did the same for her mother until her passing.
Joyce’s favorite hobbies included cooking, gardening, and ALL things football! Dubbed the ‘Flip-Flop Princessa’ for her cooking skills, if she knew you liked a dish she would be sure to make a special batch just for you! Her love of flowers, coupled with her green thumb, was evident for all to see in the many plants and flowers she cultivated. You didn’t need ESPN or any famous football commentators when watching a football… she could call the plays and point out the errors before many of them could utter a word!
However, inarguably, her greatest passion and desire was to be known as a lover and follower of our Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus. Conversations with family and friends were opportune moments to share what was accomplished on the cross and in asking others to not miss out on an eternity with our Lord.
Joyce was preceded in death by her grandparents, father and mother, Hense and Annie Bell Williams, Sr., her second husband/soulmate, J. W. Marshall, and nephew, Hense Williams, III.
