June shared 40 years of marriage with her husband, James Reed, in a relationship rooted in laughter, respect, and genuine companionship. Together they raised four children - June’s son and daughter and James’ two sons - thoughtfully blending their two families into one with care, commitment, and love. Their life together was marked by their shared joy in their lakeside home, dinner parties with friends, trips to the beach with their children, and their loyalty to and care for one another. Their partnership remained strong until the end, providing their children with a model of what it looks like to nurture a lifelong marriage and friendship.
Travel was one of June’s greatest passions. She explored the world with curiosity, fearlessness, and joy, ultimately visiting 110 different countries, often in the company of her mother or close friends. Each journey brought new experiences, friendships, and stories that she loved to share with those around her. June especially loved cruising and twice circled the globe on worldwide voyages, seeing the world one port at a time. Travel was not just something June loved – it was central to who she was, influencing the way she saw the world and how she connected with others.
When she was home, June loved cooking for others, playing bridge, and crafting, especially needlepoint and cross-stitch. The walls of her home are filled with her needle work, each piece a reflection of her creativity, hard work, and remarkable skill. Her home became a gallery of the things she loved and the beauty she created.
June’s home was always filled with animals who were a part of the family. Over the years, June and her family shared life with many beloved pets, including dogs, cats, ducks, geese, and even a pet squirrel. Among them, her chihuahua, Pinky, was her constant and loyal companion, bringing her love and comfort until the very end.
June worked in pharmaceutical sales after graduating from the University of South Florida. She enjoyed a successful career with Janssen Pharmaceuticals, where she was often recognized as one of the top salespeople in the country. She retired after 25 years as the Regional Manager in the Southeast US and Puerto Rico. Her professional success was a result of her marked determination, a quality she brought to all areas of her life.
June is survived by her children, James Earl Reed and his wife Debbie; Jennifer Reed and her husband Tony Infante; Stephen Gager Reed and his husband Dave Papenhagen; and James Malcolm Reed and his wife Kristen. She is also survived by five beloved grandchildren – Amanda, Corey, Jesse, Jane, and Kate – three great grandchildren (one named after her!), six younger siblings whom she loved deeply and one miniature chihuahua named Pinky.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Mary Peronto; her husband, James Reed; and her granddaughter, Allison Reed.
Though her travels on earth have ended, June’s love of exploration and the love she shared will live on in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know her.
A visitation will be held at Blount and Curry Carrollwood, located at 3207 W. Bearss Ave, Tampa, FL, 33618, on March 7, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Sharing of memories will follow at the same location, starting at 1:00 pm.
