Katherine Stanley Brown

Katherine Stanley Brown was born October 24, 1929 as Helen Katherine Stanley in Sarasota, Florida. Her family later moved to Tampa where she graduated from (Jefferson High School) George Washington High School. She met her future husband through her friend Elaine Brown. Elaine’s brother Kenneth L. Brown was home on leave from the Air Force and once he found out she was closer to his age they started dating and writing to each other. They were married February 15, 1953.

She is survived by one daughter Ginger Sims, 2 Sons and their spouses Geoffrey and Belinda Brown, Grant and Cindy Brown. She had 6 grandchildren, Danny Brown, Kimberly Brower, Jessie Brown, Evann Sadd, Lindsay Jordan, and Karli Mikkelsen. In addition, she cherished 12 great grandchildren, Gabrielle, Madison, Reagan and Lilyrose Brown, Sophia Sadd, Micah, Chance and Everly Jordan, Lebron (LJ) Sims, Parker and Jacob Brown, and Morgan Roy.

Katherine worked at Sears & Roebuck’s for 40 years and after retirement she remained active in the Sears Retirement Association, acting as secretary.

Katherine spent her entire life in service to her church and friends. She loved visiting with friends and family, traveling to the mountains to see the leaves change and watching the sunset at the beach. She also loved watching football.

She was blessed to have a group of precious friends, all of whom remained close friends through their lives.

She made a difference in many people’s lives and will be dearly missed.

A visitation for Katherine will be held Saturday, January 22, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Blount & Curry FH-Carrollwood, 3207 W Bearss Ave, Tampa, FL 33618. A graveside will occur Saturday, January 22, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Garden Of Memories, 4207 E LAKE AVE, TAMPA, FL 33610.
