

Our beloved Lavelle Renaye (Singletary) Shaw, 65, of Apopka, Florida went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 30, 2022 in Altamonte Springs, Florida. Lavelle was born to the late Willie Mathis Singletary Sr. and the late Fannie Lou Singletary. She was educated in Hillsborough County, receiving her Bachelor of Science from Florida Southern College.
She served in the United States Army with honor, distinction and retired as a distinguished member of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
Ms. Lavelle Singletary-Shaw served proudly as a Deaconess at Truth Nation Church, Orlando, Florida.
Preceded in death by her loving husband Charles Ware; siblings, Walter Sue Singletary, Clement Lee Singletary, Charlie Burton, Nathan Singletary, Pauline Speed and Martha “Tia” Davis.
Carrying on fond memories and love for Ms. Singletary-Shaw are her son LeShane McKnight, grandson Sherrick Brinson, granddaughters Jakalyn and Tahjah McKnight, great granddaughters Kali and Kyla Brinson, goddaughter Dekayla Mone’ Gray and god granddaughter Keyani A’Mei Sylvain.
She is also survived by her brothers: Willie Singletary Jr. (Evelyna), Elder Jadie Singletary (Josephine), Sol Singletary (Betty), Marvin Singletary(Carol) and her sisters: Bonnie Barber, Pinease Nobles (Roy) and sister-in-law Brenda Singletary with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
Special Thanks to Sonia “Peaches" and her husband David Sparkman. We also would like to thank Bonnie Barber, LeShane McKnight, Brenda Singletary, DeKayla Gray, Loretta Mathis, Amelia Powlett and LaShonda Alexander who aided as caregivers and companions during her time of illness.

Renaye will be missed by her ever-present pug-eyed companion, Chance.
All who were blessed to know Renaye will always remember her generosity, her unique sense of humor, kind heart and quick wit. Wherever she went, she graced the world with her sense of fashion, words of wisdom, know-it-all attitude and ‘’got to be right about everything all the time’’ personality. She truly made her love for her family, her Pastor and her church well known.
Celebration of Life service will take place on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 12Noon at Allen Temple AME Church, 2101 N Lowe Street, Tampa, Florida 33605. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 11, 2022 from 6-8pm at Blount & Curry Funeral Home @Garden of Memories, 4207 E Lake Avenue, Tampa, Florida 33610. Interment on Monday, February 14, 2022 at 12:30pm at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, Florida 33513 with Military Honors. Please follow the CDC Guidelines for COVID, please wear Masks. Family will meet to the church at 11:30AM.
