February 12, 1968 – December 26, 2025
Maria Elena “Mimi” Rodriguez, 57, of Tampa, Florida, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2025, with her loved ones close to her heart. Born in New York City, Mimi will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and genuine kindness that touched everyone she knew.
Mimi was truly one of a kind—she never met a stranger. Her infectious smile and open heart made her a beloved presence wherever she went. She attended NYU and was a graduate of Hillsborough Community College (HCC), and she spent the past 20 years as a dedicated employee of Publix, where she took pride in serving her community and building lasting connections with both her customers and coworkers.
Outside of work, Mimi found joy in the simple things: she loved Monday night Bingo, chatting with friends, and hunting for great bargains. Shopping wasn’t just a hobby for her—it was an act of love. She found true joy in finding special treasures for herself and others.
Mimi is survived by her mother, Mary Rodriguez; her brother, Kevin Rodriguez; her sister-in-law, Julie Rodriguez; her niece, Kali; and nephews, Scott and Jeremy. She was preceded in death by her father, Jose Rodriguez.
Those wishing to honor Mimi’s memory may consider donating to Suncoast Hospice or St. Vincent de Paul, two organizations close to her heart.
Mimi's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, a reminder to embrace life's moments, cherish loved ones, and welcome others with an open heart.
